For those who are going to attend your interview, I hope my notes and tips might help especially for my fellow TESLians.
Things you need to prepare for the SPP:

*Credits to Shaz for the list
As for the Sijil APTIS / MUET / CPT, and Sijil Cambridge (GCE 0-level), I didn't have any of them. Last time I sat for CPT only and fortunately passed, but the Jabatan Bahasa never produced a formal certificate to us (which I find it quite weird) instead we were simply notified by our lecturers who passed and who failed. I didn't sit for APTIS and MUET since i passed my CPT, thus no certificates were given. As for the Sijil Cambridge (GCE 0-level), I lost mine due to self-negligence (so me..) and to request for a copy of it, you have to contact the Cambridge International Examinations. If you insist on retrieving the 'certificate' (they won't produce a new one, just a slip of verification stating that you have sat for the exam. so technically it's not a cert anymore), you have to apply 4 FREAKING WEEKS earlier and pay a handsome fee since it's in POUND STERLING!
Be sure to make a copy for each of the document and have them certified. Separate the original documents in a clear holder and the copied ones in an envelope. Arrange them in chronological order based on the list I've given.
Attire
For the men, wear as you would normally wear in a normal class. For the womyn (since we are living in a politically correct world 😒), the same rule applies.
The Englishmen have a saying: "your first impression is your last". Digest that.
*I won't go in detail on this. You can refer it in the SPP website you lazy bumbum (jk).*
RPH
The holy grail sought after by SPP. Your 5 years of intensive training comes to this baby (well not really). Recheck your RPH book for any glitches. If there's any missing LP, you will most probably be questioned. No, they won't ask for your journal or folder.
The Journey
The venue of my interview was at IPG Sultan Abdul Halim in Sungai Petani, and supposed to start at 9.30am as stated in the Slip Temuduga. Since I'm from Alor Setar, I officially began my jolly ride (minus the hiccups I encountered) at 7.00am and arrived at IPSAH around 7.40am. Yes, i was very early for my interview, and so should you!
The first thing you need to do once you're there is to register thyself at the SPP administration counter. They will give a namelist for you to check your given name, sign the paper and give your contact number. You will need to hand in the envelope of the photocopied documents to them (don't forget to write you details on the envelope). Then just follow the SPP officer's instruction and wait for your turn. Use your time wisely - mingle around with other people and revise together. (exchange numbers if you want to. ahax). Ask the SPP Officer who are the interviewer and what to address them. This is VERY important since your future lies in their hands...some interviewers are particular on this and may deduct your mark on ethics.
Long story short...
Once the SPP officer calls your name, you will be grouped and arranged in a certain order, then off you go into the lion's den. The first person needs to knock the door and ask for permission to enter. Once granted, each of you will have to place your RPH book on the interviewers table, and stand on your respective seat according to the order. Sit when instructed. Once you're seated, for the gents, FULLY unbutton your blazer. (I was too young too dumb to only unbutton one button. 😂)
Based on my experience, we were interviewed by 2 interviewers - SPP Officer (The Chairman of SPP himself!), and an experienced English teacher (Madam xxx). The following is the gist of the interview.
*We were speaking in English throughout the interview.*

|
- The questions mentioned are from what I had collectively gathered from the previous groups and also ours.
- They may not be accurate as what were actually asked, but they are relatively similar.
|
1) Check your arsenal (no pun intended). Double check your documents and make sure the copied ones are certified by the authorized officers (ketua kampung, headmaster/school principal, lecturers, etc.)
2) Know the battlefield. If you're like me who have to drive alone and clueless about the place, then go on a recon mission to scout the area. Try not to rely too much on googlemap or waze if it's your first time. Plan ahead and make an initiative to survey the place - know where will the administration counter be set up, your interview room, and the toilet.. especially the toilet.
3) Keep calm, and pinch your tits. (metaphorically speaking) By calm I mean calmly get everything settled ahead. Plan at least 2 months before the interview itself. I had a first hand experience of panicking because of 'unresolved' documents. Thankfully things worked out for the best. You know why? Because I pinched my tits...gently, not firm. Try your best to mentally prepare thyself by reading on education matters, and the current local and global issues. Google everything you can related to the interview and make a simple note. Don't over do it. Study smart. Be gentle on yourself. *bdm tss*
All the best. Salam.
